a few things to give up for lent
Here are a few things to give up for Lent ...
Guilt - You are loved by Jesus and He has forgiven your sins. Today is a new day - the past is behind.
Fear – God is on your side. In Him you are more than a conqueror.
The Need to Please – You can’t please everyone. There is only One you need to seek to please.
Envy – You are blessed. Your value is not found in your possessions, but in your identity and your relationship with God.
Impatience – God’s timing is always the right timing.
A Sense of Entitlement – The world doesn't owe you a thing. Neither does God. Your life is all about grace.
Bitterness and Resentment – The only person you are hurting by holding on to these things is yourself.
Blame – Don't pass the buck. Take responsibility for your actions.
Gossip and Negativity – Try to put the best construction on everything when it comes to other people.
Comparison – You have your own unique contribution to make, and there is no one else quite like you.
Fear of failure – You can't succeed without experiencing failure. Just try to fail forward.
Feelings of Unworthiness – You are fearfully and wonderfully made by your Creator.
Self-pity – God comforts us in our sorrow so that we can comfort others with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Excuses – A wise man once said that if you need an excuse, any excuse will do.
Pride – Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will raise you up.
Worry – Remember that God is in control, and worrying won't help one bit.
Doubt – God has a plan for your life, as well as your after-life. The future is always bright with Christ.
